The film Driving with Selvi was one of the highlights of the 2016 Salem Film Fest. Selvi and Elisa return to the North Shore after a whirlwind of appearances at multiple film festivals around the globe as well as a visit to the U.N. Regional (Western Europe) Office in Belgium in honor of the European Week of Action for Girls. They have three scheduled stops in the U.S. and Salem is one of them. Salem’s Trials: Lessons and Legacy of 1692 is an interdisciplinary symposium to be held on June 10, 2017 at Salem State University’s Central Campus. Organized and co-sponsored by the SSU History Department, the Salem Award Foundation, and the Essex National Heritage Area, the symposium will commemorate the 325th anniversary of the Salem Witch Trials with a program of presentations and panels.
